Several trucking companies have donated trucks and driver’s services to deliver fresh water to Flint.
It has recently come to light that the citizens of Flint, Michigan have been provided with water contaminated with lead after the city switched their water supply from Lake Huron to the Flint River. The town of Flint has only had access to contaminated water for the past two years. All the citizens of Flint have been exposed to lead levels in the water, with 6,000 to 12,000 children testing positive for severely high levels of lead in their blood. An outbreak of Legionnaire’s Disease from the poisoned water has already claimed 10 lives. Since this tragedy has come to light, several trucking companies have risen to the occasion to provide aid to the citizens of Flint. (more…)
