The Weather is Cold
Tire pressure can be affected by outdoor temperatures. In the case of cold weather, this can cause tire pressure to go down. In other words, your truck tires are more likely to become flat when temperatures are low. Take a moment to see if your tires appear flat. If they are, you’ll want to add more air into them before you hit the road.
Perform Monthly Inspections
Even if your tires look fine and temperatures are moderate, tire pressure should still be checked on a monthly basis for safety purposes. By checking on your truck tires every month, you ensure that tire pressure never has the chance to get too low. When assessing tire pressure, it’s best to check your tires if the truck hasn’t moved for a minimum of three hours, or if you’ve only driven inside of 2 kilometers. You can also check for other types of tire problems while you’re performing this inspection, allowing you to accomplish multiple tasks at once.

Long trips require a lot from your truck tires. As such, you’ll want to check your tire pressure before you have to go on any long trips. This way, you’ll be sure that your truck is ready for an extended trip on the road.
